Self Portrait in Essences

This series began in my mind as a more traditonal botanical study and ended up something very different as I began to paint it. Having done a series with animals the year before, I had intended to just focus on the plants this round and paint a sort of self portrait to reflect the flower essence botanicals I was ingesting for my health. As I painted the animals just showed up and then one for each chakra centre in the body. I trusted the process and kept going. The Blind Owl and The Wolf Who Protects my Heart were the last pieces of the series.
