Sneakerella

Well, this was not a Bippity Bobbity Boo, wave a wand and it’s done. Working on this through the first portion of the pandemic was a lesson in patience and flexibility. We were moving from remote to the office to remote to the office.. it was also my first time being a 1st.

It was however, a great team to be a part of and we knew we were working on something that was hopefully going to be uplifting and add a little bit of magic to the presently challenging world.

We turned an entire street in Hamilton, ON into Queens, NY and not only that, the film partnered with Adidas! … and I was given the honour of creating a collab between the Darius King, King6 brand and Adidas! I also was able to get creative with painting a few murals and a family portrait that was, if memory serves almost 20ft across! With a little bit of the fairy Godmother’s magic and some of Cinderella’s elbow grease, a fun, colourful film was made.

It also became a family affair when my stepson’s drawings were used for the “young El”.

The mural creation that  went to scenic and was created in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.. the city liked it so much, they kept it.
It grew as the movie went along to show it was a live grafitti wall in the city.

My step-son Lucas Schuck supplied over 30 drawings for the character of young El. Proud moment!
